- Sept/Oct Monday evening pottery courseClasses run from our loft studio in central Brighton (Hartington Rd, BN2 3PA). They're small, with no more than seven people, and lots of one-to-one tuition (and tea!) On-street parking is free at the time of the course. All classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced potters. If you are booking for an under-16, please call us before booking to discuss. If you are a beginner, or are not confident to work more independently yet, the course will take you through projects which will introduce you to the fundamental principles of hand-building. You can explore pinch pots, coiling techniques, and the use of soft and hard slabs. You'll get the opportunity to experiment with a range of glazes and decoration techniques. If you have some pottery experience already, then you can bring ideas for projects you would like to make, and we will support you to make them come to life! All potters will get the chance to book an optional extra throwing session in the 7th week of the course, where you can have a go at the fun and tricky skill of throwing a pot on the wheel. This costs an extra £40, and you can decide nearer the time if you would like to book this. The course price includes use of clay, a range of glazes, underglazes and slips. Firing costs are charged at £1 per 100g of fired, finished work. Each student is able to book one catch-up class per term. You may be able to swap with a student in another class, or we will run a catch-up evening towards the end of the course. Come along, play with clay and make some beautiful ceramics!7 Sep to 12 OctHot Fox Pottery£250.00
